And so it begins...

Well, about 13 weeks ago I confirmed so many people's suspicions that I was pregnant. It was such a great day too. I was getting complimented on my cake, the author Sharon Draper hired me to make 2 cakes for her book promotion, and I was told I was doing a great job at work. I felt like the timing was right and so on my way home I bought a pregnancy test and waited for JJ to come home. As soon as he walked in the door, I went in the bathroom and literally about a minute later came out to tell him I was indeed pregnant! My friend, Jen, at work knew the week after we conceived! NO JOKE!

So far in the pregnancy, I have lost 6 lbs. and only had to deal with 2 weeks of feeling nauseous. I survived going on the week long D.C. trip with my students and now am enjoying being off of work and having time to relax. However, relaxing to me is sleeping in and then getting down to work. I have cleaned and organized the house and next week will begin working on my school plans. Yes, I know that is not what summer is for, but Volleyball starts Aug. 9 and school is right around the corner. Once Volleyball is over, I only have a month before she is born. I have to do things now because I want to enjoy as much of this whole experience as I can.

A lot has been happening!

Well, I know I haven't posted anything for over a month and in that time a lot has been happening. First, I finished half of Phase 3 and just knew that if I went to the Lean program that I would lose weight faster. So, I began Phase 1 of the Lean program and in the first week, I lost 2 lbs. So, since I began in December, I have lost a total of 8 lbs. I am very happy because I have been keeping it off. However, the past three weeks have been extremely hard because JJ and I decided to look for a house and get that whole stressful process going and it has been stressful. However, we may be building with Dominion homes and that is very exciting because it is our dream house. I have only been working out twice a week in the past three weeks and that is upsetting to me, but once this all get figured out, then I know I will be okay and back on track, until I'm gone for a week in May when we go to D.C. for school. I just keep reminding myself to stay positive because as long as I can keep it off and keep losing a minimal amount then in the summer I have a ton of time to get most of it off before the end of the summer.

My goal is to wear a two piece this summer in public and look good in it! ha

End of Phase 2!

Well, today is day 60 and I know I haven't updated this in a while. Let me start off by saying - I feel great! These last 30 days were intense and difficult. I had some time there were I was having trouble because I picked up my new orthodics and trying to get those worked in hurt! There was one day where my head was pushing me harder than what my feet could handle and I was on the floor crying in pain. However, I finished strong and did what I could. As Tony Horton says, "Do your best and forget the rest!" Also this month was hard because for three weeks I had to take my Day 7 break on Day 4 because of Parent/Teacher conferences and then driving to Mansfield to pick up the new car (which I love, by the way).

So, my results. In the last 30 days, I have lost 2 lbs., my body fat percentage went down by 1%, and my BMI went down by 0.3. My chest and waist stayed the same. I lost an inch in my hips and in my thighs. Finally, I have gained a fourth of an inch in my biceps. Oh yeah - muscles!

In these last 30 days, I plan on pushing myself to my limit. Yesterday, I busted my ass doing push ups and I worked hard and feel it today. Today, I tried my hardest with Plyo. I'm going to finish this Phase strong and then I have decided to go right into doing P90X Lean - which is more Cardio and I have a feeling that is where most of my weight loss will occur.

30 days and results!

Well, yesterday was 30 days that JJ and I have been on this program. We have been working hard and began Phase 2 on Monday. Yesterday, we had to weigh in and take our measurements and pictures again. My measurements don't show much change, but the pictures do. First, I want to share that I am down a pant size! I went to Old Navy to celebrate a bit - Clearance section. Anyway, my results were: down 4 lbs., lost 2" in my chest, 0.5" in my waist, no change in my hips, lost 1" in my thighs and no change in my arms. However, in my pictures, my arms and waist have changed a lot!

Most people think I should post my pictures, but I'm not ready for that yet. I think if my 90 day results are awesome (not like the commercial, but close) then I will post them all.

Other than that, I am enjoying being snowed in. Got that call around 9:30 tonight that we off again tomorrow! I needed an extra day - I have 90 essays to grade!

Stay warm!

Wow - Week 3 is over already!

Well, Week 3 is over and we are beginning our Recovery Week. This past week wasn't bad. I have come to the conclusion that it is easier for me to follow the Nutrition plan during the work week than it is on the weekends. On the weekends, I don't wake up at 5:45am and have my breakfast (Protein drink) by 6:30am, and lunch by 11:15am. Instead, I'm waking up at 10am and eating breakfast by 11am and then lunch by 2:30pm. I tend to forget about my snacks and protein bar.

Anyway, week 4 is Recovery Week and we do more Yoga, Kenpo, stretching, and Core work. On July 27, it will be 30 days. We take new pictures and re-do our measurements to see our changes. I am very much looking forward to it because I feel that I have changed. I feel thinner - even though that probably sounds weird. But I do. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the results will show that. I really don't want to get discouraged.

Finally, this week I will be facing a challenge. I am making a Baby Shower cake for a person at work and one, I'm nervous because it is my first big cake for a lot of people who don't know me well. Second, I am not going to be able to lick the beaters when I'm done or lick my finger that has icing on it. Finally, I made the cake, should I have a piece? Guess we'll find out on Wednesday - we'll see how much will power I have! I mean what would it look like - me eating a Protein bar while everyone is eating the cake I made!

Week 2 - a struggle!

Well, Week 2 is over and it was a bit of a struggle. Mainly, because I was back to work. JJ and I adapted our meal plan by having a protein shake (1 cup of skim milk, 1 cup of strawberries, 1/2 a banana, 1 1/2 scoops of 100% Whey Protein powder unflavored, 1 cup of ice) every morning. I must say I love this idea. It is fast and I can drink it in the car on my way to work, since I have a 25 minute drive. For lunch, we are each having a Lean Cuisine meal. This is in the Quick option plan and it works out because Wal-Mart is always having a sale on them (this past week they were $1.88 each). For dinner, we have been grilling some chicken and making chicken tacos with corn tortillas. This has been so quick for us.
However, on Wednesday, I had to stay after school late and got concerned on what to do for dinner. We looked through the meal plan and saw we can go to Wendy's. So I got a Double Stacker (didn't eat the bun) and a Sour Cream and Chive baked potato. It was good and then I did my workout. On Thursday, JJ flew out to Maryland for work. I didn't feel like cooking, so I went to Wendy's again and then did my Yoga (which I did so much better this time). Finally, on Friday, instead of my basic workout, I went and played 2.5 hours of Volleyball with a friend from high school, Steph Krous, and that was so much fun. I truly felt it when I got home. On Saturday, we did Kenpo, but again, went to Wendy's and then went to see a movie at 9:50 and had POPCORN. I felt so quilty about it. I felt quilty because it was late, we did get a little butter on it, and we got a large. About half way, I just didn't want anymore. So I stopped and JJ finished it. Today we did the XStretch and that felt so good.

We are in the final week of Phase 1 and I am seeing results already. I have lost 4 lbs. total and on Wednesday I checked my body fat % and I went down 1.2%. So that is good. This week my goal is to push my self to my max. I really want to see results and I really need to push myself. I would like to at least do one pull-up this week. We shall see.

Week 1 Overview

Wow! I feel so good and so proud of myself. Yesterday, was Day 6 and we did Kenpo! I loved it! It was a lot of blocking and punching - oh yeah, I pretended certain people were in front of me. That will come in handy during the school year! haha - not a student's face - of course not! Anyway, today we could stretch or rest - I chose to Rest. JJ did the stretching and liked it. Instead, today, I prepared to return to school, cleaned up, finished laundry, took a nap, and made a great and healthy P90X dinner (lemon garlic chicken, wild rice, and asparagus). I am off to bed to get my mind right to begin Week 2 and I can't wait!
